We have spent an enormous amount of time building trustworthy and dependable partnerships with some of the best food testing laboratories and technological centers around the world. With years of experience in analytical testing and engineering, our partner labs deliver accurate and detailed test results that our users can see in our app. We proudly introduce AGQ Labs, one of our most reliable partnerships, who share our strong commitment to consumer transparency.

Methods of Testing

Our partner labs use four main testing methodologies to ensure thorough and accurate results.

  1. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) is an analytical method that combines the features of gas-chromatography and mass spectrometry to identify substances within a test sample.

  2. Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) is a similar analytical chemistry technique that combines the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry. Both GC-MS and LC-MS are regarded as "gold standards" in food testing because they are highly focused tests that positively identify the presence of even the smallest amounts of a specific substance. They are most often used to detect and measure spoilage and contamination.

  3. Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) is a type of mass spectrometry analysis that detects metal and several non-metal quantities in food.

  4. Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES or ICP-OES), is another analytical technique for the detection of metals using atoms and ions that emit electromagnetic radiation to identify the characteristics of metals in food substances.

All of the test methods used can be performed on both solid and liquid samples. The analyses and services that our partner labs offer are scientifically proven industry standard methods to accurately identify and quantify contamination in raw or processed food products.

After our partner labs deliver us a precise analysis of a chosen food item, our team at TestSharing transcribes the results to a custom Evaluation Report that is then made available to our users. Our Evaluation Reports give a detailed overview of the test results, including an elaborate explanation of each contaminant detected and a score on our unique Index Scale. For more information on how to read our Evaluation Reports and our Index Scale, visit our Result Evaluation page.
